Fund Raising Opportunities
Scrip (Gift Cards)Begin purchasing scrip today to benefit the Building Fund! You purchase scrip (retailer's gift cards basically) at face value. The church has been able to purchase them at a discount. The difference goes to the Building Fund. Retailers such as Barnes & Noble, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Borders, Dick's, DSW Shoes, Footlocker, Gap, JC Penney, K Mart, Land's End, Linens 'N' Things, Marshalls, Old Navy, Payless Shoes and Staples participate. Use scrip for your own shopping as well as giving it as gifts. Every purchase of scrip benefits the Building Fund. See Debbie Velencia to purchase your scrip during Fellowship Hour. (Order forms are available below.) Thanks to all who participate and support the program and we always welcome new participants. Give it a try.Scrip Order Forms are available online in PDF format: scrip20090727.pdf (36 kbytes, revised 7/27/2009).
Giant & Weis SupermarketsIf you shop at Giant and/or Weis and have not yet participated in this program, give it a try. It is no cost to use but does increase the Building Fund. Just remember to bring your check made payable to St. Matthew with "Building Fund - Giant or Weis" in the memo section. See Melissa Edens during the Fellowship Hour for your Giant and Weis grocery scrip.
Gold for the TempleMoses said to all the congregation of the people of Israel, "This is the thing which the Lord has commanded. Take from among you an offering to the Lord; whoever is of a generous heart, let him bring the Lord's offering: gold, silver, and bronze ..."Here is an opportunity for you to help the people of St. Matthew's pay for our beautiful new Temple. Bring us your unused and unwanted gold and sterling silver and we will quickly turn it into cash for our building fund. We take sterling flatware and serving pieces, gold, silver and platinum jewelry, and dental gold. The pieces can be in any condition. We deal directly with a refinery and, as a non-profit, are not charged a processing fee. Contact persons are Martha Elliott and Diane Johnston. |
