“…for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink;” Matthew 25:35
On the third Monday of each month, one or more participants or families provides a meal for up to fifteen residents of St. Matthew House where:
The residents who wish to attend, usually about 10, sign up during the previous week
Generally, the meal consists of a main dish, side dishes and/or a salad, bread, a dessert and beverages, usually sodas
Participants bring the meal to the house, use the common kitchen to reheat, and then serve the meal in the common dining room at 6.00 PM
Volunteers are encouraged to share eating the meal with the residents who enjoy meeting new people and are eager to express their appreciation for what is provided
If you are providing a meal for the first time, the coordinator will be happy to make suggestions for your dinner and help you with the reheating and serving of your meal.
