Father Constantine White attended St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary. Father Constantine served the Orthodox Church in Japan as a lay missionary for four years. Father Constantine was ordained at St. Nicholas Cathedral, where he served for 25 years, eventually becoming the Dean. Father Constantine also served as the Orthodox Chaplain at Georgetown University for 30 years.

Matushka Nina was born in Japan and raised in the Japanese Orthodox Church, her mother having converted to Orthodoxy after WWII. Father Constantine and Matushka Nina met in Japan and eventually married at the Cathedral in Tokyo. The Whites have two children, Philip and Alexandra, and a grandson Noah.

Deacon John Jubinski was ordained at St. Matthew’s on July 18^th, 2021 by the Most Blessed Tikhon, Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada.  Deacon John is a 2021 graduate of the Orthodox Church of America’s Diaconal Vocations Program [DVP], an integral part of the Diaconal and Late Vocations Ministry.  Deacon John is a life-long Orthodox Christian who was baptized at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Washington, D.C. in 1953.  Besides being member of St. Nicholas, he was also a member of St Mark’s (Bethesda MD) before he and his wife, Beth, moved to St. Matthew’s.

Matushka Beth was born in New Mexico and spent most of her formative years in Satellite Beach, FL.   She is a former U.S. Navy LCDR before moving on to be a government employee.  Deacon John and Matushka Beth were married at St. Mark, and shortly after that blessed event, Matushka converted to Orthodoxy.  The Jubinski’s have two children, Catherine and Christine, as well as three grandchildren, Aidan, Cordelia, and Frederick.

Fr. Sergius was born in December 1938 at University Hospital in Baltimore. Until 1956 he lived in East Baltimore. He studied at Loyola College where he received his A.B. in 1960. At Catholic University, he completed his MA in Medieval History as well as the course work and comprehensive exams for the PhD. In 1973 he received a master's degree in Library Science.

After teaching for 5 years in Anne Arundel Co, Fr Sergius went on to work at Catholic University in DC in 1969. He began working in the religious section of the University and in 1974 he became assistant head, and then head, of the Acquisitions Division. In 1979 he became head of the Religious Studies Division and the next year Humanities was added. He retired in 2003.

Fr Sergius started attending St. Nicholas Cathedral in 1995 and began serving two years later. He was tonsured reader and ordained Subdeacon in December 1998, and ordained deacon in December 2006.

Fr Sergius joined Saint Matthew in March of 2011, and was raised to the protodiaconate on Holy Saturday, 2017 by His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon.

Deacon John had Protodeacon Sergius's cane placed in a memory box.  On July 10th, after liturgy, Fr. C. showed the parish the framed cane.  The cane will remain in the altar-the place most loved by PdnS and a reminder of PdnS to all serving at the altar.  Thank you Dcn. John for coordinating this heartfelt recognition project.
