GRASSROOTS 2022 HOLIDAY GIVING

Once again, the St Matthew Parish has given generously to this worth cause. This year, our Grassroots Holiday Gift Card donation totalled  $2,640!  GRASSROOTS had run out of gift cards for people in need, and our donation allowed them to provide for families on the wait list🙏 Thank you to all who donated!

The Howard County Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center:

• Is a multi-service center in Howard County providing 24-hour crisis intervention
• Is a walk-in counseling program and is the first point of contact for homeless services
• Operates a 33-bed emergency family shelter, an 18-bed men’s shelter and can house up to five families short-term in a motel shelter
• Serves three meals daily for up to 50 shelter residents

The Orthodox Church of St. Matthew has been supporting Grassroots in various capacities for many years:

• Items needed for donation are announced at Liturgy and in the Sunday Bulletin
• Grassroots compiles a Holiday Wish List every fall, and the parish decorates a “Giving Tree” with gifts from the list
